Running along the ocean front

I had an interesting conversation with my dad yesterday about exercise and how we should run often. One of the sub-topic was running along the beach. He said that when he retire and move down to Florida with me, he would be running each morning and each night along the coast line. He said that the fresh air from the sea breeze is very healthy for you. And I totally agree with him. The reason is, when I was living in the caribbean, I found myself less likely to be sick. I also found myself swimming and having short walks/jog along the beach every morning and evening time. It helped me felt so relaxed and refreshed.

What is your thought on this?

Weather is getting warner.. ready for a jog?

The weather is getting warmer, are you itching to go for a run? Where do you run most often? Do you even like to run in warm weather? Or do you like to run in the cold?

If you are like me, you like to run in warmer weather. But before I go out to run. I try to keep it at a slow pace to begin with and then gain momentum over time. Here are some tips that I want to leave to you so that you can get started on jogging again to a better health.

1) Take it slow... start by walking, then jog, and then run. Don't sweat it.. You've got time... it's nice outside start slow and enjoy the scenery.

2) Pressing it? It is not go to press it on the first couple of run. You have to get back into that position that you were months ago if you haven't been running. Plus the change in the weather can also affect how fast you get tire.

3) Compete.. If you are like me, you have a competitive spirit. If you do, motivate yourself by signing up for different running event and competitions. Even if you don't win those events, you win better health.

4) Intermittent runner? It is not good to run for 1 week straight and then quit 2 weeks and then start again at the same pace. I suggest you keep a schedule of when to run, so that you will be motivated to run, and continue running.

5) keep record... Most people fail to realize how important it is to keep a log of your run. Keeping a log will help you analyze how much improvement you need. If you are running at the same pace and same amount of time everyday, how can you improve? A great way for you to keep record is by using www.jog.org mobile app.

That's all I have now for this. Be positive and stay motivated.
